SRT707 Touring Shoes Back In Stock!

May 26, 2011

It’s true.  All sizes are finally here and ready to become an integral part of your cycling wardrobe.  Some have called this shoe the Stelvio for no apparent reason but maybe typing that will help someone locate it.  That wasn’t our idea, we think SRT707 is a great and memorable name.

Lots of good stuff coming back in stock.

May 20, 2011

SRT707 touring shoes in all sizes and PR107TK pedals among other things will be back in stock in good supply, potentially as soon as the end of next week.  All this stuff in making its way from Los Angeles to Albuquerque right now.

SRT707 Shoe Update

April 4, 2011

If you subscribe to the RSS feed or check back frequently, you’ll see that we got quite a few SRT707 “touring” shoes back in stock about a month ago.  Many have emailed asking when or if we’ll get the other sizes back in stock.  Good news!  Q Cycle is putting the SRT707 back into production, just for the US market, and we should see all the sizes back in here before the end of May.  Please keep checking or sign up for the feed so you know when they’re back in stock.

Which BMX Hall Of Famer Just Switched to Exustar? (Hint: The King is Back)

January 29, 2010

"Eddy King" King BMX "BMX shoes"Eddy King is the elder sibling of the back-in-the-day brothers combo of  Mike & Eddy King, known to an entire generations of snotty-nosed groms (now grown up to be snotty-nosed adults, just like us)  as “King Edward,”  The “Silver Bullet,” “Eddy the King” and of course, part of  ”The Dynamic Duo,” a title he shared with fellow Diamondback legend Harry Leary.

Nowadays Eddy’s a successful San Diego real estate broker, flipping $2 million homes like the rest of us turned burgers at Jack-In-The-Box throughout high school. Heck, some of us still do. But Eddy is  racing BMX again and—even better—doing it in Exustar shoes.

BMX "BMX shoe" "Carbon shoe" "MTB shoe" "carbon BMX shoe" "carbon MTB shoe"It’s great to have another escuela vieja BMX champ (along with Tinker, of course) running our gear.

As old farts like Commodore Bill will recall, Eddy was particularly dominant as an amateur, winning most of his racing titles at that stage of his career. He went on to be a respected professional for the remaining six years of his 14 year career…all 14 of them with the Diamondback brand.

But that, as they say, was Then. And now he’s with us. We think that’s pretty darned cool.

Adageo Pro Team Signs With Exustar!

December 16, 2009

Q Cycle is proud to welcome the Adageo Energy Pro Cycling Team to the family of Exustar-sponsored athletes. The team will ride on Exustar shoes, pedals, and helmets, plus what Commodore Bill describes as “assorted goodies”– cages, bags, etc. Other notable equipment sponsors include Leopard carbon framests, Pactimo apparel, American Classic wheelsets, and eyewear from Smith Optics.

The 2010 Adageo Energy roster features a mix of American and international talent that includes Australian Cody Stevenson (winner of Stage 1 of the 2009 Tour of Wellington), American Tommy Nelson (stage winner at the Southern Nevada Stage Race), Swiss national (U23) team member Tobias Eggli and accomplished American track talents Bennet van der Genugten and Danny Finneran.

You can follow the Adageo team as @adageocycling on Twitter; Adageo Energy Pro Cycling on Facebook; on their main web page; or via the team blog.

We’re psyched to have such heavy hitters on Exustar. Welcome, guys!

Fashion Tips From The Style Maven (#01 in a series)

December 7, 2009

What does the well-dressed cyclist wear when pedaling en route  to a posh downtown eatery for dinner-by-candlelight with that Special Someone? Style Maven Anne suggests the classic yet ever-fashionable Exustar lace-up touring shoe SRT707,  just $99 with full-grain leather upper and recessed cleat (so you won’t mar the parquet floors when dancing  ‘til dawn).

Glass-fiber reinforced nylon sole is comfortable enough for tango, cha-cha, light hiking, or Eagle Claw Kung Fu…yet stiff enough to bring the partygoer who’s a had a little too much Bubbly securely back home whilst lashed to your rack, comfortably vomit-side down for easy cleanup.

Some Early MTB Love From Singletrack

E-SM332 MTB shoes

How cool is this? We’re not even officially open for business yet, and the cycling press is already saying nice things about our products.

Last month, in fact, Tech Editor Zack Vestal at Singletrack magazine (which is sort of like VeloNews‘ offroad kid brother, only more grown up and who doesn’t bring your car back with gas gauge pegged on E and the back filled with empty PBR cans every dang time) came out with a very positive review of our Exustar E-SM322 MTB shoes, comparing them favorably with top-of-the-line offerings from, well you know, all those other brands.

We encourage you to read the full article here, but couldn’t resist adding some tasty excerpts:

E-SM332_sm

“I managed about two months of riding in these shoes, including an off-road stage race with 4+ hour stages, and a couple of normal length cross-country races as well. Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed with the fit and function…”

“Power transfer and comfort for both walking and pedaling are good.

Other aspects of the fit are very good as well. The upper is soft and nicely shaped. The toe box is wide and roomy, with a round (rather than pointed) toe area. I have a wide forefoot, and cramped toe space is my number one peeve. No problems with these shoes in this department. Ventilation is good, and my feet were never too hot. The retention straps are perfectly comfortable and create no pressure points. The ratchet buckle is easy to use.”
